Hi, I’m Marla–a Chicago-based actor and host who specializes in the “perfectly messy” human experience.
With a background rooted in The Annoyance and ComedySportz improv scenes, I bring a sharp, spontaneous edge to every project—whether I’m leading a high-energy comedy, anchoring a lifestyle program, or diving into a gritty period drama.
With over 40 film credits to my name, I’m a a staple of the independent circuit. I currently star in the comedy short Lighting Lotto, now heading into its 2026 film festival run. My recent work also includes a Best Supporting Actress win for my portrayal of a fading B-movie star in Private Screening, a performance that captured my signature blend of desperation and deadpan humor. On television, my range spans from the psychological world of teen drama in Darkroom to series regular roles on the sitcom Apartment 41 and the streaming comedy Peaches & Daisies.
On stage, I recently toured with the acclaimed period drama Bill W. and Dr. Bob. Following a sold-out 10-week run at Chicago’s historic Biograph Theater and performaces at Ross Ragland Theater, the show returned by popular demand to Chicago’s North Shore Center for the Performing Arts.
A dedicated student of the craft, I continue my ongoing training with Amy Lyndon, Shakespearean study with Susan Hart, and professional coaching with James Dumont. When I’m not on set or hosting, I’m likely refining my Bachata and Salsa on the dance floor, practicing Yoga and Pilates, or studying German. And if there’s downtime? You’ll likely find me in the kitchen, applying that same “precision meets chaos” energy to perfecting a new recipe for muffins, cookies, or the perfect pizza crust.
